Google quadrupled minimum RAM requirements for Android 13

Google has raised the minimum requirements for devices that will run Android 13.

Now smartphones and tablets that want to get the new operating system must have at least 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of non-volatile flash memory.

Google last adjusted the minimum hardware requirements with the release of Android 11 in 2020. At that time, the minimum threshold was 512 MB of RAM. At the same time, only the light version of Android Go could be run on devices with less than 2 GB of RAM.

However, it is worth adding that recently most smartphones have 4 or 6 GB of RAM.
