Ultra-compact and cheap (about $5,000-$7,000) electric vehicles are popular in China, but the absolute bestseller is the Wuling Mini EV. Many local automakers have already introduced their Wuling Mini EV counterparts (such as Chery QQ Ice Cream and Dongfeng Fengguang Mini EV), and now it's Geely's turn. The company showed the Geometry M2, which is likely to be exported outside of China.
Geometry M2 is made in the best traditions of China's electric micromobiles: three meters long, curb weight 715 kg, 13-inch wheels and 27 or 41 hp. depending on version. You can’t count on the car’s hurricane dynamics, but the Geometry M2, like other cars of the class, is not about this, but about the cheapness of movement. The electric motor is located on the front axle, the capacity of the lithium-iron-phosphate traction battery is not disclosed.
The Geometry M2 not only has an interesting design, it has something that other microcars do not have - a panoramic roof with an area of almost ... the entire roof. There are no images of the interior, but what you can see is a screen in front of the front passenger and individual seats in the back row. The driver's instrument cluster screen is likely to be placed on the steering column.
If the Wuling Mini EV has hundreds of appearance options, then the Geometry M2 is simpler: users can only change the color of the grille edging and choose from a couple of wheel covers.
The price has not yet been announced. Geometry M2 will go on sale in China in the fourth quarter of this year, and the public premiere of new items is expected at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November.
