Valve Engineer Shows Many Early Steam Deck Prototypes - All Working

Valve engineer Pierre-Loup Griffe shared photos of 10 Steam Deck console prototypes at once. He did this in honor of the launch of the gaming system in Asia. According to the specialist, these are all working prototypes that were assembled by hand before mass production began.

The photo shows options with round trackpads, smaller sticks and a D-pad similar to that of the Nintendo Switch. It is noted that these models began to be created in 2019. It seems that the company has been testing different design options, but the release went to a version with larger analog sticks and square trackpads.

Also in the photo you can see how the color options for the console changed. Apparently, two-color options were also considered, as well as versions with colored buttons.

Earlier it was reported that the company intends to release a new version of Steam Deck. And the other day, the PlayStation Vita emulator was released for the console.
