Citroen brings back a century-old logo

Citroen has unveiled a new logo and corporate identity for the brand. For the first time, the new nameplate will appear on the concept car, which will be presented at the end of September.

According to the automotive resource Motor.ru, the new logo is essentially a copy of the original, 1919 model. It is based on the historical "double chevron" - a combination of two curved stripes, which are again enclosed in an oval.

In 1959, the oval of the strip went beyond the boundaries of the oval, and in 1985 the oval was abandoned. In addition, under there is an inscription with the name of the brand, which first joined the emblem in 1966. Along with the logo debuted a new slogan: "Nothing drives us like Citroën."

Citroen plans to completely phase out petrol engines in Europe by 2030. In the fall of 2023, the electric Citroen C3 will go on sale, then the e-C3 Aircross crossover should be shown, and the premiere of another crossover, the e-C5 Aircross, is scheduled for 2025. At the same time, commercial vehicles will also switch to electricity, e-Berlingo will be the first.

Meanwhile, in China and emerging markets, the automaker intends to sell petrol and diesel vehicles for a long time to come.
