Turkey will reveal details on the Mir map by the end of the week

According to TASS with reference to the Turkish newspaper Aydinlyk, the Turkish authorities will announce the details of the new payment system, which they plan to use in the country as an alternative to the Mir system, by the end of the week.

Recently, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan held a meeting with employees of specialized economic structures on the problem of accepting Mir cards. “After the meeting, it became known that work [in this direction] is ongoing,” and “the details of the payment system being developed, which will become an alternative to the Mir system, will be announced in one or two days,” writes Aydinlyk.

As previously reported today, three state-owned banks in Turkey have abandoned the use of the Russian Mir payment system. Prior to this, on September 16, private Turkish banks Is Bankasi and Denizbank suspended work with cards of the Russian payment system. It was noted that the decision was connected with the statement of the US Treasury about its readiness to apply sanctions to those who use the Russian system.

In addition, Mir cards were no longer accepted in Kazakhstan, Armenia and Vietnam. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan instructed government members, together with specialists from Moscow, to develop an alternative to the Russian payment system Mir.
