The Krasnoarmeisky Research Institute of Mechanization has designed the SZM-16 mixing and charging machine based on the KamAZ chassis, which can transport individual components, mix them on site and feed them into wells, saving time and money.
Mining explosives consist of several components that are transported in separate containers for safety. SZM-16 is capable of simultaneously transporting five components with a total weight of up to 16 tons. It replaces several units of equipment at once and can be used in open pit mining, as well as in industrial and hydraulic engineering construction.
The operation of the SZM-16 equipment is provided by an automated control system developed by JSC KNIIM with level, pressure and temperature sensors, a blocking and feedback system. Especially for this machine, the company also created dosing pumps with reduced dimensions and other equipment.
The start of testing of the SZM-16 is scheduled for October 2022, while the leading mining companies in Russia have already placed orders. This machine should replace the import equipment that was previously supplied to miners.
