Google is considering unlocking the Stadia controller so it can be used on other platforms

Google is looking into unlocking the Stadia controller. This was mentioned in a letter received by one of the users of the "cloud" service, writes Forbes.

Unlocking the gamepad means it can be used on other platforms via Bluetooth. To do this, the company will need to release a special update.

Now the device connects to PCs, Macs and smartphones via wire.

Stadia will close on January 18, 2023. The company promises to fully return the money to users, but since foreign payment systems do not work in Russia due to sanctions, Russian Stadia users will have difficulty with a refund.

In August, Google began testing a feature that allows you to launch cloud games directly from search. Test participants ran Control Ultimate Edition, Destiny 2, Halo Infinite, and Darksiders Genesis. Games are launched not only through Google Stadia, but also through Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce Now and Amazon Luna.
