BMW introduced the all-new BMW M2, which received a 3.0-liter engine with 460 hp. and a six-speed manual gearbox.
The "charged" M2 differs from the usual "deuce" in its original body kit and headlights, proprietary exhaust system and different wheels on the front and rear axles - 19-inch 275/35 wheels are installed in front, and 20-inch 285/30 wheels in the back.
Inside, there is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an iDrive 8 infotainment system with a 14.9-inch touchscreen, sport seats, a head-up display, a heated steering wheel and wireless smartphone charging.
The aforementioned manual gearbox is installed in the base version, and the older version received an eight-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the car is equipped with an adaptive suspension. The new BMW M2 does not have an all-wheel drive system in any of the configurations (only rear-wheel drive). Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in the BMW M2 in manual transmission takes 4.3 seconds, and on the "automatic" - in 4.1 seconds.
The car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 200 km / h in 13.5 seconds (with a gun) or 14.3 seconds with a manual transmission. The limited top speed of the new BMW M2 can be raised from 250 km/h to 285 km/h with the optional M Driver's Package.
The second-generation BMW M2 will go on sale in the US and Europe in April 2023. It will be produced alongside the new BMW 2 Series Coupé at the BMW Group plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. In the US market, the novelty will cost at least $63,200.
