AvtoVAZ is considering the possibility of reducing the plan for the production of cars in 2023, as reported by Atypical AvtoVAZ on the VKontakte social network.

This time, the reduction of planned indicators to less than 400 thousand units is being discussed. This is the second reduction in the plant's production program for next year. The first mentioned a figure of "more than 400 thousand units", which is about 15% less than the original plan of 500 thousand cars.

It is assumed that if the production plan is indeed reduced, AvtoVAZ may also change its work schedule, returning to a five-day working week without a sliding day off (now the plant operates in a “six-day” mode with a sliding day off).

Together with the schedule, the schedule of the company’s unified corporate vacation in 2023 may also be changed. If initially it was planned to keep only three summer weeks of vacation common for all factory workers, and provide the remaining 7 days to employees according to separate schedules for each department, now these days will be scheduled according to the scheme of previous years - between the May holidays and before the New Year holidays.

In early September, the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, said that in the second half of 2022 the plant plans to produce about 140 thousand cars, and in 2023 - to increase production to 500 thousand cars.
