IBM to acquire Octo, the blue giant's eighth acquisition this year

International Business Machines (IBM) has reached an agreement with investment firm Arlington Capital Partners to acquire Octo, a digital government services company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but if it goes through, it will be the microelectronics maker's eighth acquisition this year.

If all goes according to plan, Octo will be part of IBM Consulting, which is engaged in consulting and services. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2022.

Given that IBM Consulting increased revenue by 5.4% compared to the same period last year. The figures rose to $4.4 billion. the total revenue of IBM increased by 6.5% - up to 14.11 billion dollars.

At the same time, stock quotes as of yesterday evening, Wednesday, fell by 0.2%, although the total value of the company since the beginning of this year has grown by 10.2% and amounted to 133.4 billion dollars.

Note that earlier IBM left Russia, where it worked for many years.
