Director of the Siberian Research Institute of Aviation (SibNIA) Vladimir Barsuk said that in January his research institute will receive a sample of the SSJ New aircraft for static testing.
“Today we are planning to conduct static tests of the Superjet New aircraft. At the beginning of January, we expect the arrival of a sample at the institute, and subsequently we will be engaged in the creation of a stand,” said Vladimir Barsuk.
Static testing is a test of an aircraft for static strength. And earlier, the SSJ NEW model with PD-8 engines passed aerodynamic tests at the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Professor N.E. Zhukovsky (TsAGI). According to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, the SSJ New with the Russian engine will receive an airworthiness certificate at the end of next year.
