The James Webb Space Telescope is finally ready to launch after 14 years of development. NASA conducted a launch readiness check and authorized the launch, which was to take place on December 24. Unfortunately, bad weather conditions forced the agency to postpone the launch again.
The telescope is to be launched into orbit by the Arianespace Ariane 5 rocket, which launches from a cosmodrome in French Guiana, operated jointly by the European Space Agency and the French National Center for Space Research.
While the target date is called December 25, and the launch window is limited to marks 12:20 and 12:52 UTC. NASA is expected to confirm a new launch date tonight.
