Insider: Samsung will stop releasing smartphones on Android

South Korean company Samsung plans to abandon the release of smartphones running Android and switch to the new operating system Fuchsia OS, said insider Dohen Kim. Later this information was confirmed by the authoritative insider Ice Universe.

Kim noted that it is too early for fans and owners of Samsung smartphones to worry. He believes that the transition to the new operating system "will likely take several years."

Google has been working on an open source Fuchsia operating system since 2016, and at the end of May, a smart display from a company called the Nest Hub became the first product to receive Fuchsia OS. Google's new platform is designed for a wide range of devices and, according to the company, has several advantages over Android.
