56 year old 1968 Plymouth Road Runner with 1000 HP

A restored 1968 Plymouth Road Runner has gone up for auction, noting that it has undergone a "comprehensive frame-off restoration" and powertrain upgrade.

The car received a blue metal body with chrome inserts, as well as color-coded steel wheels. The Hellephant's badges hint at the massive power lurking under the hood.

The original 6.3-liter V8 engine has been replaced by a supercharged 7.0-liter Hellephant engine that produces 1,000 hp. and torque 1288 Nm. The engine is mated to a 4L80E racing transmission with a TCI controller. The battery was moved to the trunk as the engine room was not large enough to accommodate it.

The cabin retains its old-school charisma despite a range of modern updates. These include a Vintage Air climate control system and analog gauges from Dakota Digital.

The car is equipped with Wilwood brakes, a Street-Lynx four-link rear suspension and Viking Performance adjustable coilovers.
