The TFTCentral resource has published a roadmap for the release of new LG Display panels to the market. One of the notable new products will be a 27-inch matrix with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a frame rate of 360 Hz - production of such panels will start in the last quarter of this year, and finished devices will appear a quarter later.
Moreover, we are not talking about a regular IPS matrix, but about IPS Black - with an increased contrast of up to 2000: 1. According to TFTCentral, LG Display is working on a new generation technology that will increase the contrast even more. IPS Black 2.0 is expected to go into production by the end of 2025.
By the end of this year, another 27-inch IPS panel should appear - dual-mode. It will be able to work in 4K 240 Hz and 1080p 480 Hz modes. A little earlier, in the third quarter of this year, LG Display will launch into mass production a simpler dual-mode 27-inch IPS panel: 4K 144 Hz and 1080p 288 Hz.
