Hundreds of assembled domestic crossovers XCITE (Chery Tiggo 7 Pro) were filmed at the former Russian Nissan plant, they are without grilles and logos

An Autonews correspondent went to St. Petersburg to the former Nissan plant to assess with his own eyes the situation at the plant site at the moment. On the territory of the plant he managed to find several hundred new cars (Chery Tiggo 7 Pro) and failed to notice people.

The cars had no radiator grilles or logos. Considering that the official Tiggo 7 Pro arrives in Russia in a fully assembled form, those stored on the territory of the car are precisely locally assembled. They will go on sale under the XCITE brand and, according to numerous photographic evidence published earlier, will be called XCITE X-Cross 7.

If there are a lot of cars in the area, then there are no people. “It seems that the plant, at least at the moment, is in idle mode, although its entire territory has been cleared of snow,” the correspondent writes. It was previously reported that the company would go into downtime at the beginning of February.

The journalist caught another interesting moment. Due to American sanctions, AvtoVAZ distanced itself from the project - so much so that the new XCITE brand was represented by the enterprise itself, which is now called Avtozavod St. Petersburg. But at the same time, the name “Lada St. Petersburg” and the large AvtoVAZ logo still adorn the building’s façade in large letters.
