Amazon Music introduced a feature for generating playlists using AI

Amazon has rolled out the Maestro feature in Amazon Music, which allows you to generate on-demand playlists in natural language. The option is based on artificial intelligence.

Maestro is currently available in beta to a small number of Amazon Music users in the US. The function is supported by applications on iOS and Android. Maestro will appear after updating to the latest version of the service.

Natural language queries can contain any information, including sounds, actions, emotions and emoji. Amazon has offered some emoji clues.

Maestro is in beta testing, so the function does not always generate playlists correctly. The company notes that it has protections in place that prohibit offensive language and inappropriate suggestions.

Over time, Amazon plans to distribute Maestro more widely. Currently, Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers can listen to, save, and share Maestro playlists with friends.

Prime and ad-supported free tier subscribers will be able to listen to 30-second snippets of playlists before saving.

Earlier in April, Spotify also launched a beta version of AI playlists for users in the UK and Australia. The function works similar to Maestro.
