A smart speaker from Amazon Alexa told a 10-year-old girl to touch the prongs of a half-plugged plug with a coin, according to the BBC. It is noted that this action can lead to severe electric shock.

“Connect the phone charger about halfway to a power outlet, then touch the open contacts with a coin,” the voice assistant said.

Alexa suggested doing so after the child told the helper to call.

The girl's mother Christine Livdal wrote about the incident on Twitter, noting that her daughter did not listen to the voice assistant.

Amazon said it fixed the bug as soon as it became known.
