A parental complaint about the incident at the Darby Montana school has been forwarded to the police as well as the local education department.

According to the mother, on December 15, her son, a sixth grade student, used his phone during recess. This was noticed by the math teacher and, instead of just making a remark, he took away the phone and began to humiliate the child.

“He said: If you want to get your phone back, you have to beg for it, I have to see tears in your eyes,” says the boy's mother Talia Holmes. The teacher then forced 11-year-old Jahir to kneel in front of his classmates, who laughed at him. Only one child in the class tried to intercede for a friend, but the teacher yelled at him. It was his mother who contacted Jahir's family and told about what had happened before the boy returned home.

According to the lawyer of the Holmes family, Nadir Muhammad, the white teacher used the usual practice of American slave owners against the black student, who chose the most powerful and freedom-loving slave, and then deliberately humiliated him and made him lose his human dignity in order to break his will.

“Kneeling and begging is an animal behavior. My religion forbids me to kneel before anyone other than God, ”says Talia Holmes.

Police Superintendent Brenda Winder told FOX 29 that the case was under investigation and declined to comment.
