The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov said during a meeting with reporters that the growth rate of car prices in 2022 will decrease.

In December, it was reported that the prices for cars will depend on the cost of rolled metal products, car microcircuits and the constantly rising cost of logistics. There is also information that machines with a high degree of localization of production in Russia have a chance to fall in price and increase their market share.

In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposes to limit the maximum markup of official car dealers on the sale of new cars at the level of 10%, including during the period of peak demand. This would correct the situation in which dealers set sky-high prices for popular models using various additional equipment. We have already reported what this translates into in reality: the "installation" of a rug from a Skoda dealer costs 3,000 rubles, and a child seat - 23,000 rubles.

According to the Association of European Businesses, sales of new passenger cars and commercial vehicles in Russia in November 2021 decreased by 20.4% and amounted to 125,466 thousand units. On average, in 2021, the price of Lada cars increased by 17%.
