Asus unveils 17-inch foldable tablet with Windows 11 and flexible OLED

Asus unveiled the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show. It can be called both a huge foldable tablet and a convertible laptop without a hardware keyboard.

Asus itself is positioning the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED as the world's first laptop with an innovative foldable screen. Previously, a similar development was made by Lenovo - ThinkPad X1 Fold is similar, but has a much smaller size.

17.3-inch OLED touchscreen with 4: 3 aspect ratio and 2.5K resolution (2560 x 1920 pixels) can be folded in the middle to form two seamlessly adjacent 12.5-inch displays with an aspect ratio of 3: 2 and resolution 1920x1280 pixels each. The display is Pantone Validated, Dolby Vision HDR and TÜV Rheinland certified and supports 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage.

As the manufacturer explains, when combined with the Asus ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard, the foldable design allows the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED to be used as a PC, laptop, tablet, e-reader or secondary display.

The device is based on Intel Core 12th generation U-series processors up to Core i7-1250U and Windows 11 operating system. There is also a 75 Wh battery, two ports, two USB Type-C ports with support for the Thunderbolt 4 interface, four Harman speakers Kardon.

The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED will go on sale in mid-2022. The recommended price has not yet been announced.
