Video card shipments will continue to grow in 2022

Citing industry representatives, the source said that Taiwanese video card manufacturers including Asustek Computer, Micro-Star International (MSI), Gigabyte Technology and ASRock have posted significant shipments in 2021. Shipments are expected to continue to rise this year.

Rising demand in the corporate and gaming segments, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, component shortages and logistics delays are said to be expected to drive sales of IT products, including PCs. The finished goods shortage is expected to persist until mid-2022.

With consumer demand experiencing only a slight drop in demand while corporate is seeing growth, laptop vendors including Asustek Computer, Dell, Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Apple have already reserved capacity from their chipmaker partners for the next 1 2 years and expect to be able to keep supplies at the same level or even increase them by 10% compared to 2022.

Sales of graphics cards are still supported by the demand for mining and interest in games, despite tough measures against cryptocurrencies in many countries. Due to strong demand, shipments of graphics cards worldwide are expected to grow by at least 10% in 2022.
