Apple Watch may not receive any new health tracking sensors for another two to three years

While rumors are heavily attributed to Apple's next smartwatch, a non-invasive blood glucose meter, Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman argues that no such technology should be expected in the Apple Watch any time soon.

What's more, Apple won't add any new health-tracking sensors to its watches in the coming years. The foodie says Apple is indeed working on three new technologies: a non-invasive blood glucose meter, a pressure sensor, and a temperature sensor. But they will not appear in the watch soon.

Don't expect any of this any time soon. The body temperature sensor has been on the roadmap this year, but there has been less talk of it lately. A blood pressure sensor will appear in at least two to three years, and I would not be surprised if glucose monitoring only appears in the second half of the decade.

That is, really new sensors may have to wait at least two to three years. However, this does not mean that the Apple Watch will do without new features all this time. For example, the new model may have improved sleep tracking, including sleep apnea detection.
