Russia (bbabo.net), - The proportion of people infected with a new strain of coronavirus "omicron" among samples examined by the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) is 76%. This was announced by the head of the agency Veronika Skvortsova.

“Yesterday and today we see a fairly pronounced dominance of the omicron over other lines, primarily the delta. Let’s say, yesterday’s indicator in ours, I want to emphasize this, the cohort that is gaining accounts for 76% of the omicron,” she said. Skvortsova to the Rossiya-24 TV channel, she also clarified that these findings were made on a sample of Moscow patients with coronavirus infection using a test system developed by the FMBA.

Recall that the day before, Roszdravnadzor registered the first test system in our country capable of detecting "omicron". It was reported that the set of regents allows to detect the presence of this strain with high sensitivity in just an hour and a half. The test system is intended for use in clinical laboratory diagnostics.

Earlier, Veronika Skvortsova also said that the FMBA will be able to provide all regions of Russia with new test systems for detecting "omicron" in 7-10 days.
