The Leninsky Court of Tambov chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention for two months to the acting deputy head of the Tambov region Vladimir Gromov. This is reported by TASS with reference to the regional prosecutor's office.

Gromov is suspected of condoning the theft of 25 million rubles intended for the implementation of the national project "Demography". Criminal cases were initiated against him for abuse of official powers and their excess (part 2 of article 285 and part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to the investigation, the organization, whose patron was Gromov, signed contracts worth 25 million rubles with 90 kindergartens in the Tambov region. A significant part of the contracts were not executed despite full payment.

Earlier, Lieutenant Colonel Aleksey Golokhvostov, former deputy head of the Department of Capital Construction of the Engineering and Technical Support Service of the FSO, was accused of taking a bribe in the amount of 20 million rubles in connection with concealing violations during the construction and reconstruction of facilities on the territory of the residence of the President of Russia in Novo-Ogaryovo.
