Travel planning service OneTwoTrip told about the most popular tourism destinations for Russians during the New Year holidays.

It turned out that Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi were in the lead among railway and air destinations by city, and among foreign countries - Armenia, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan.

Most often, air travelers chose Moscow (share of 29.7% of all bookings, it decreased by 13% compared to the previous year), St. Petersburg (10.1%, decrease in demand by 5%) ), Sochi (5.1%, demand is 10% less than in 2021). Also in the list of popular destinations were Krasnodar (3.5%, the share did not change) and Mineralnye Vody, which rose from seventh to fifth line (3.2%, +28%) over the year. In addition to them, Kazan (2.4%, the share increased by 15%) and Ufa (2.3%, an increase of 15%, last year were not included in the top) were in the top 10 cities. The air rating of destinations is closed by Kaliningrad (2.2%, which has become almost a third more popular; last year the city was not included in the top), Yekaterinburg (2.1%, a drop in demand by 8%) and Makhachkala (2%, the capital of Dagestan was of interest to Russians for 15% less than in 2021).

Among foreign air destinations, tourists most often flew to Armenia (19.8%, the share decreased by 8% compared to the same period last year), Turkey (16.3%, demand here decreased by half) and Kyrgyzstan (8.7 %, a reduction of 53%). The fourth line was occupied by Azerbaijan (7.4% demand quadrupled, the city rose from the sixth line), the fifth - Uzbekistan (7.2%, the share increased five times, last year the country was in tenth place), on the sixth line - Tajikistan, whose popularity has increased several times compared to the previous year (5.9%). Rounding out the top 10 countries are Moldova (4.4%, a doubling), the UAE (3.7%, an increase of 60%), Belarus (3.4%, demand has grown almost five times) and Georgia, which also times increased demand compared to 2021 (1.9%).

“Speaking of countries, it is worth noting that not all foreign locations were available during the New Year holidays last year. Moreover, few tourists were willing to travel due to the pandemic. Basically, they went out of necessity to visit relatives and friends, ”comments Elena Shelekhova, head of the OneTwoTrip press service.

For train travel during the New Year holidays, Russians most often chose Moscow (26%), St. Petersburg (10.8%), Sochi (2.3%). Demand for these destinations remained virtually unchanged over the year. Krasnodar was next on the list (2.2%, the share did not change), as well as Yekaterinburg (2%, an increase by a quarter) and Tyumen (1.9%, no change). In addition, the list includes Nizhny Novgorod (1.8%, a decrease in demand by 18%), Rostov-on-Don (1.7%, the share increased slightly), Kazan (1.5%, demand decreased slightly) and Khabarovsk (1.2%, unchanged).
