The "orange" level of terrorist threat was introduced in the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan. Sputnik Kazakhstan reports this on Telegram.

This level is set for 14 days.

Until Thursday, the city had a "red" level of terrorist danger. At the "orange" level of danger, inspections and patrols are carried out.

On January 13, it became known that law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan had completed an antiterrorist operation in 14 out of 17 regions of the republic. It was reported that the situation in the country has stabilized, therefore, in the territories of the cities of Nur-Sultan, Shymkent, Akmola, Aktobe, Atyrau, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, Kostanay, Mangystau, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan and Turkestan regions " red" level of terrorist threat and the anti-terrorist operation is completed.

Protests broke out in Kazakhstan on January 2 in the city of Zhanaozen, Mangistau region, due to an increase in the price of liquefied gas to 120 tenge (about 21 rubles) per liter of liquefied gas. Prior to this, the price of a liter of gas was 60 tenge. Two days later, protesters clashed with the police and military in Almaty and a number of other cities. Clashes also took place in Aktobe, Taraz, Aktau and other settlements. To suppress the riots, the CSTO peacekeeping forces were sent to the republic.
