Khabarovsk residents were given three and a half years in prison for growing 1001 hemp bushes

A court in the Khabarovsk Territory found guilty two local residents who grew hemp on the territory of their summer cottage. They were sent to a strict regime colony for three years and six months, according to the MIA Media website.

The investigation found that men 46 and 50 years old near the village of Gatki, Sovetsko-Gavansky district, grew and stored prohibited plants on land.

It is noted that the police seized more than 135 kilograms of hemp bushes prepared for processing, about 20 kilograms of marijuana and 1001 cultivated hemp bushes from one of the defendants, and a mating with 220 kilograms of a drug-containing plant from the second.

It is reported that one of the defendants systematically provided the premises of his country house to acquaintances for their consumption of marijuana.

Earlier it became known that the police of the Khabarovsk Territory seized about 30 kg of hemp from a resident of the village of Kukan.

It is specified that five cans and several large packages with a narcotic substance of plant origin were seized in the house of a 39-year-old suspect. According to the detainee, last summer he discovered bushes of wild cannabis in the forest. Then he collected the plants and kept them for his own consumption.
