Deputy Rashkin was invited to Solovki to reduce the population of moose

Yevgeny Tyutyukov, a deputy of the municipal council of Solovkov, told the publication Podyem that residents of the village of Solovetsky, Arkhangelsk region, sent a letter to Valery Rashkin, a deputy of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, who had previously been detained in connection with illegal hunting in the Saratov region.

According to Tyutyukov, the letter was a joke, but later the deputy said that he intended to collect real signatures under the document, since recently residents of the village began to complain about moose coming out to human habitation. The letter states that moose are wild animals that pose a danger to people.

“A large number of Solovki residents told me that they were ready to sign it for real,” he said, pointing out that the investigation related to Rashkin did not bother the residents, but rather the opposite: the case showed that Rashkin turned out to be a well-aimed hunter.

“We are turning to a media figure and a well-aimed hunter to help solve this problem or at least draw attention to it. We treat him with respect. If a person has broken the law, he will answer for this violation. I don’t see anything terrible here, ”said Tyutyukov.

He added that "there was a place in Russia where Rashkin would be gladly accepted and given the opportunity to hunt as much as you want."

Valery Rashkin was detained at the end of October; the carcass of a dead moose was found in the trunk of his car. At first, the parliamentarian denied involvement in the death of the animal and said that he had found the carcass in the forest, but later published a video message in which he confessed to killing the animal. The court forbade the deputy to leave the house at night and visit the hunting grounds.
