Russia (bbabo.net) - Two criminal cases have been opened on the fact of cutting down trees in the Baidarsky nature reserve and the Maksimova Dacha nature park in Sevastopol. This was announced today by the press service of the city prosecutor's office.

In the reserve "Baydarsky" 45 deltoid junipers were cut down, listed in the Red Book of Sevastopol. Illegal logging has led to a change in the natural landscape, has violated the habitat of rare species of animals and plants and the integrity of the natural complex.

The damage is estimated at 450 thousand rubles. Based on the results of the audit of the Sevastopol interdistrict environmental prosecutor's office in the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Balaklavsky district of Sevastopol, he opened a criminal case under article 262 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the regime of specially protected natural areas).

And in the nature park "Maximova Dacha" nine trees were illegally cut down, among them - smooth elm, oriental hornbeam, Magaleb cherry. A criminal case was initiated by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Leninsky district of Sevastopol.

Earlier, the prosecutor's office of Sevastopol began an investigation into the felling of 300 junipers in the area of ​​​​the village of Sugar head on the territory of the Mekenzievskoye forestry.
