“There is now evidence that omicron seems to be less serious than [previous strains], but that doesn't mean it's not serious. Coronavirus causes very serious diseases,” she said.

Earlier, WHO experts said that symptoms of infection with a new “omicron” strain of coronavirus can be shortness of breath, fatigue, as well as diarrhea or vomiting. The organization's specialists noted that the variant of the virus discovered in November last year is becoming the dominant strain throughout the world.
