Russia hands over all documents on Sputnik V to WHO

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has provided the World Health Organization with all the necessary information on the Sputnik V vaccine. Melita Vujnovich, representative of the World Health Organization in Russia, stated this on the air of the Soloviev Live YouTube channel.

“On December 30, the private equity fund provided the WHO with all the documentation that was required. We expect inspections to take place in February,” she said.

The Russian Sputnik V vaccine has been approved in 71 countries with a total population of four billion people, which is 50% of the world's population. In terms of the number of approvals received by state regulators, Sputnik V ranks second in the world.

Earlier, WHO representative Margaret Harris explained the delay in the recognition of Sputnik V by checking technological processes. According to her, for inclusion in the register of funds for use in emergency situations, WHO requests not only data on the safety and efficacy of the drug, but also documentation on the production technology, and it is the verification of technological processes that takes a lot of time.
