The most common complication is inflammation of the small parts of the bronchial tree. “This condition can be accompanied by severe respiratory failure and lead to an unfavorable outcome. This is always the situation that can be fatal for children,” RIA Novosti quotes the infectious disease specialist.

Pozdnyakov drew attention to a curious fact - when children were infected with previous strains of coronavirus, bronchitis practically did not occur.
