Russia - In Vladivostok, the head of the crematorium fined in the case of bribes

Russia (bbabo.net) - The Pervomaisky District Court has sentenced the head of the crematorium of the MBU "Necropolis", who acted as an intermediary in giving a bribe, the press service of the Primorsky Territory Prosecutor's Office reports.

It was found in court that in October 2020, the defendant helped the bribe-taker - the head of the cemeteries "Necropolis" and the bribe-givers to meet and agree on the details of the transfer of a bribe in the amount of 4.7 million rubles for obtaining permits for the installation of more than 200 formworks for burials and the allocation of places for burial without presenting a death certificate.

His actions were classified under paragraph 4 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Mediation in bribery, committed on an especially large scale."

The court, having recognized the person involved in the case as guilty, imposed a fine of 1.5 million rubles on him.

The prosecutor's office calls the sentence "soft" and notes that it will send an appeal to the Primorsky Regional Court, where it will raise, among other things, the question of imposing a sentence of imprisonment on the guilty.

Recall that the "cooperation" with the MUPV "Necropolis" brought down the ex-mayor of Vladivostok Oleg Gumenyuk. He is accused of taking bribes of 19.5 million rubles for general patronage in the business of this funeral home. It is believed that the company has become an illegal monopoly in the field of funeral services. The ex-mayor denies any guilt.
