Nvidia has announced the world's most powerful supercomputer Drive PX 2, designed for vehicles equipped with autonomous technology, as informs.

The enormous computing power was achieved with new liquid cooling technology. The model uses 12 cores, two Nvidia Tegra processors and two graphics processors. This allows processing of up to 2800 images per second.

When installed on autonomous car, Nvidia Drive PX 2 will process the data received from multiple cameras, conventional and laser radars. As a result, the computer will build a virtual copy of the road in real-time, and then calculate the optimum route, taking into account the location of roads, road signs, lanes, other vehicles and pedestrians.

Earlier, Nvidia introduced a Drive PX computer, but his testing showed that its power was not enough. As a result the processing power of PX 2 has been increased twice and had got the liquid cooling.
