Russia (bbabo.net) - British doctors have announced that they have discovered a new subspecies of the "omicron" strain of coronavirus, which is characterized by an even higher spread rate. This was reported by the UK Health Security Agency.

"A subspecies of the omicron strain, which has been designated BA.2, is under surveillance," a press release posted on the Agency's website says.

It is noted that a new subspecies of coronavirus, which was first detected in early December last year, was detected in 426 people, of which 146 live in London. British doctors also note that this variant of the virus has been recorded in 40 countries, in particular, more than 6 thousand cases in Denmark.
