According to him, I would like to believe that the appearance of "omicron" is a sign of the end of the pandemic. “I think that the pandemic should end by summer,” Nikiforov told RIA Novosti.

The infectious disease specialist noted that some part of the population will be ill with "omicron" asymptomatically and will not even notice it. Nikiforov explained that now there is a fairly large increase in the number of cases, but the hospitals are not overcrowded, which suggests that this type of virus is not as severe as the "delta".

Earlier, the Ministry of Health urged Russians to minimize visits to public places with a large number of people, and also gave several recommendations on how citizens should act against the backdrop of the spread of the omicron coronavirus strain.
