The incident occurred at midnight local time, five kilometers from Cape Iron Horn.

The vessel, owned by a British company, was carrying over 700 tons of fuel oil. There were 7 people on board - all citizens of Russia. They were evacuated to the tug "British". No harm done.

Two rescue vessels were sent from Novorossiysk to the scene. On visual inspection, slight smoke was observed.

Now the tanker Almuntazah is at anchorage. Deck lighting, navigation lights and generator are in working order. According to the crew, the compartment where the fire occurred is closed.

The issue of disembarking an emergency brigade is being decided. Permission from the shipowner has not yet been received.
