Russia (bbabo.net) - In the Kaluga region, after the death of a prisoner in a colony, the head of the correctional institution and his deputy were removed from their posts. An official check is being carried out against the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the region, the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia reported.

Immediately after receiving information about the discovery of the body of the convict, a commission from the central office was sent to Kaluga colony No. 3. A survey was conducted among the staff of the colony and convicts. Members of the commission studied the recordings of video surveillance cameras.

As a result, the commission revealed a number of gross violations, both in the activities of the colony and the territorial body. In addition, violations were found in the organization of the operation of video surveillance systems. As a result, the leadership of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia decided to remove the head of the correctional colony and his deputy from their positions.

The body of the convict was found on January 22 in the medical unit. On the fact of his death, investigators opened a criminal case. A comprehensive check of the colony was also organized by the regional prosecutor's office.
