Estonian defense company Milrem introduced the first prototypeofhybrid unmanned multi-purpose tracked vehicle, according to Gizmag.

UAV is a universal platform designed for performing tasks involving emergency situations. Its maximum speed is 40 mph and has 1500 pounds of load capacity.

Autonomous ground UAV is driven by electric motors, equipped with a new generation of supercapacitors, which enable continuous operation for eight hours. Supercapacitors are charged with the help of diesel generators.

To optimize the energy consumption, the machine uses a power control unit that controls the energy flow between diesel generator, electric motor and supercapacitors, working as energy storage. This system reduces the total energy consumption by 25-40%.
