When gas was released at a field in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO), four people were injured, all of them were taken to the hospital with burns. This is reported by TASS with reference to a source in emergency services.
“During the work, according to preliminary information, during the descent of the perforator into the well, gas was released [with subsequent ignition] at the field in the Surgut region,” the source said.
The fire has now been extinguished. There are no dead.
Earlier it became known that 87 miners were evacuated from the Anzherskaya-Yuzhnaya mine in the Kemerovo region. According to preliminary data, the cause of the incident was a failure in the ventilation system.
At the end of last year, the court, at the request of Rostekhnadzor, suspended coal mining on one longwall of the mine for 90 days, and also introduced a temporary ban on the operation of a conveyor belt due to violations of industrial safety requirements.
At the same time, since February 2016, the Anzherskaya-Yuzhnaya mine has been in a state of bankruptcy, but coal mining continues.
