Russia (bbabo.net), - The Leninsky District Court has taken into custody a man suspected of exceeding his official powers as the Minister of Tourism of the Stavropol Territory. The preventive measure will be two months, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office reported.
“Given the specific circumstances of the criminal case and the personality of the suspect, it is not possible to choose a milder measure of restraint,” commented the supervisory authority. “At the court session, the prosecutor issued a conclusion on the need to take into custody the Minister of Tourism and Health Resorts of the Stavropol Territory.”
As previously reported, a criminal case against Kirill Reut was initiated on the basis of materials from the inspection of the prosecutor's office of the Stavropol Territory and materials from the operational-search activities of the FSB in the region. The investigation believes that the department committed a number of violations when concluding a state contract in 2021 to hold a fireworks festival in the region. The regional budget has lost more than 25 million rubles.
"Law enforcement officers have established that, in fact, the subject of this agreement was the services provided by the ministry under a contract concluded back in 2020. Also, the final cost of the commercial proposal was unreasonably overestimated by 10 times," the press service of the Stavropol Territory Prosecutor's Office added.
