The paramedic told why she was fired during the strike in the ambulance of Ishimbay

Ambulance workers in Ishimbay staged an “Italian” strike demanding higher salaries, staffing of brigades, return of allowances and overtime pay, after which three paramedics were fired. One of them, Vera Vysogorets, in an interview with said that after she did not go to work on her day off, she was fired, although she did not receive notice of a change in schedule.

“I was on sick leave, said that I had closed it, made sure that my shift was only on Monday night and left for the weekend. Yesterday, the head of the personnel department called me and asked me to explain the reason for absenteeism. I explain that I don’t have a shift on the schedule, she says: “No, you were supposed to leave on notice.” I say that I did not receive any notification. I arrived at work, there they were already waiting as part of the chief physician, the head of the quality department and the head of the personnel department in the office with ready-made work books, personal files and orders for dismissal. The head doctor said that I didn’t go to work, but there was a notification, they called me and sent an order by Russian Post, ”she said.

Vysogorets clarified that they really called her on Friday evening from a landline number similar to the Central Regional Hospital, however, when the paramedic picked up the phone, “there was silence for 17 seconds.” According to her, she and her colleagues immediately wrote a statement to the prosecutor's office to check the legality of the dismissal.

“I immediately called back, they no longer picked up the phone. They said that this call was a warning that I had to go to work. In general, in the order to go to work outside the planned schedule, I must put a personal signature that I agree. After the dismissal, we went to the prosecutor's office and wrote statements to check the legality of our dismissal and prepare a statement of claim in court, ”she emphasized.

According to the paramedic, after the start of the strike, the head physician did not try to talk to the staff.

“There were no calls to the head physician, there were no conversations with him at all. A ministerial group from the Ministry of Health of the republic, a deputy minister, a representative of the trade union, the administration of the republic arrived and listened to all our demands, our explanations. Numerous checks began to visit our station. The chief doctor gave a written answer only that, according to the results of the check, our salary is not bad. He pointed out that he could not staff us quickly, because there was a shortage of personnel, but he was not going to compensate for the load because we were working for ourselves and for another person who should be on call next to us. We all tried to get out of the situation, took shifts, because it was necessary to cover the deficit. They didn’t go out for double payment, but simply asked us, ”she explained.

Vysogorets stressed that, despite the shortage of workers, the head physician decided to dismiss three paramedics, and 30 students of medical colleges who cannot provide assistance on their own were sent to replace them.

“How can the head physician fire people during a period of acute staff shortage? They released information everywhere, both in the media and the Ministry of Health of the Republic, that 30 students of medical colleges of the last courses were sent to help us. But I want to clarify - these are students, they do not have certificates, they do not have the right to provide medical care on their own. Students cannot close the staff shortage. They essentially go through practice and follow my instructions on the call, they help me somewhere. How they can really help us, we still don’t understand, ”she complained.

As the Telegram channel Mash Batash reported, the essence of the strike, which began on February 4, was to work strictly according to the rules, for example, send two paramedics per call, and not one, so that there would be enough cars for everyone. 45 doctors participated in the boycott. Two days later, three activists, including Vera Vysogorets, were fired for "violating an employment contract."
