The head of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, said in a conversation with TASS that abnormal weather is expected in some regions of Russia - from thaw to minus 30 degrees.

In the European part of the country, the temperature will significantly exceed the norm, he said. So, in Moscow and the Moscow region it will be 8-10 degrees warmer, and in St. Petersburg the excess will be 6-10 degrees.

In the south of Western and Central Siberia, on the contrary, a sharp cooling is predicted.

“The temperature will drop to 25-35 degrees below zero, which is 4-6 degrees below normal,” the forecaster warned.

He explained that abnormal frosts are associated with the development of an anticyclone that determines the weather in Siberia.

“In Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, Khakassia, Irkutsk, there will already be Siberian frosts,” Vilfand said.

Earlier, Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading employee of the Phobos weather center, said about the significant warming that the North Atlantic cyclone Roxana will bring to Central Russia.
