Denis Protsenko, chief physician of hospital No. 40 in Kommunarka, said that intoxication and fever can be considered the hallmark symptoms of the Omicron strain of COVID-19. The head physician told Komsomolskaya Pravda about this.
“Symptomatics are in many ways similar to SARS — fever, nasal discharge, weakness. There are almost no specific symptoms by which waves could be distinguished (like the disappearance of the sense of smell). This is mainly fever, intoxication, ”Protsenko emphasized.
According to Protsenko, the incubation period for the virus has been reduced to 7 days. Protsenko also explained that most often new patients who enter hospitals with "omicron" are people over 65 years old.
