A criminal case has been initiated against Rector Georgy Gretz, the third in the last two months. The fourth is on the way.

The prosecutor's office conducted an inspection on the campus of the university based on the materials of the FSB. On the 15th floor of the hostel, in a two-room apartment, kindly provided for use by the rector's wife, they found a gourmet studio.

Gastro dinners, culinary master classes and banquets were held there. On the third floor, the rector's daughter-in-law conducted paid quests, the regional department of the UK noted. Another room was occupied by a company that teaches English and supports investment projects. "These premises were not used for their intended purpose. There are no permits for their transfer from the housing stock to non-residential and civil contracts for the use of rooms, agreed with the owner of the university property," said Yulia Kazakova, senior assistant prosecutor of the Smolensk region.

According to investigators, the rector's relatives have been doing business in the dormitory for almost seven years and have not paid rent. A criminal case has been opened on abuse of office. In December, a similar case was opened after a mining farm was found in the building of the university. The equipment "burned" electricity for more than four million rubles. Also, the rector and his subordinate were charged with misappropriation of money allegedly allocated for the repair of the pool. The accused are in custody. The property of Gretz worth more than five million rubles was seized.
