Member of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Biysultan Khamzaev proposed to fight smoking by making all packs of cigarettes the same.

“We still haven't made standardized cigarette packs yet. Australia, Great Britain, France and a number of other countries already did this about eight years ago. There are no advertisements on cigarette packs. They are all dark green with the same brand image. Just names," he told URA.RU.

Khamzaev added that the country needs to constantly improve anti-tobacco legislation. According to him, Russia adopted a package of anti-tobacco rules about ten years ago.

“You need to understand that the existing set of anti-tobacco regulations in the country is insufficient. What needs to be done for this is a big discussion,” the deputy concluded.

Earlier, the State Duma prepared a bill on a complete ban on the sale of vapes in Russia.
