Ural social activists reported on the implementation of projects on migrants and interreligious dialogue

On February 1, in the multimedia historical park "Russia - My History", the results of the implementation of activities carried out by non-profit organizations in 2021 with subsidies from the regional budget for the implementation of projects aimed at strengthening ethno-confessional peace and harmony, social and cultural adaptation and integration of migrants, prevention of extremist manifestations on the territory of the Sverdlovsk region.

The event, chaired by Anton Tretyakov, Director of the Department of Internal Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region, was attended by representatives of non-profit organizations, members of the Public Council under the Department of Internal Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region, representatives of other ministries and departments.

Among the 15 projects that received support from the Department of Internal Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region, a number were devoted to Islamic, interreligious and migrant topics.

Thus, the head of the Sverdlovsk regional public organization for the promotion of the spiritual development of the Tatar and Bashkir culture "Yardam" Aidar Mukhamatnurov spoke about the implementation of the project "Round table" Formation of a positive spiritual and religious climate, prevention of extremism and countering the ideology of terrorism in the Muslim environment "(within the framework of the V Interregional scientific -practical conference "Islam in the Urals: History, Modernity, Challenges")", which was attended by leading experts from Moscow, Kazan, Tyumen, Surgut, Yekaterinburg and Perm. Representatives of 35 municipalities of the Sverdlovsk region participated as listeners.

The event discussed the prevention of extremism in the Muslim community of the Sverdlovsk region, socio-cultural adaptation of migrants, the impact of the situation in Afghanistan on the Muslim community in Russia and the Urals. The project was implemented with the assistance of the Regional Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Sverdlovsk Region as part of the Central Spiritual Muslim Board of Russia and the Ural Association "Center for Ethno-Confessional Research, Prevention of Extremism and Countering the Ideology of Terrorism."

The head of the Bazhov Charitable Foundation Sergey Polyganov spoke about the implementation of the project "68 questions about the Middle Urals", aimed at raising awareness of foreign citizens coming to the Sverdlovsk region about the history and modernity of the region.

The head of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of the all-Russian social movement for promoting friendship and harmony among youth "All-Russian Interethnic Youth Union" Nazim Gasanov spoke about the event "Exit workshop for specialists and ethnic youth on the socio-cultural adaptation of migrants", in which adaptation specialists conducted a series of training workshops on this issue. Also, this public organization implemented the project “Youth Interfaith Seminar “Tradition. Ural. Russia”, within the framework of which the project participants visited an Orthodox church, a synagogue, a Buddhist center and a mosque with excursions. The DUM of the Sverdlovsk Region (Central Muftiyat) took an active part in the implementation of the project.

Expert of the Ural Association "Center for Ethno-Confessional Research, Prevention of Extremism and Countering the Ideology of Terrorism" Aleksey Starostin, in his speech, spoke about the results of three projects that the Association implemented with the support of the Department of Internal Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region in December 2021.

In the period from December 13 to 16, the Association, with the involvement of Deputy Mufti of the Spiritual Muslim Board of the Stavropol Territory Zakir Sharypov and an expert on migration legislation Natalya Rastorguyeva held a series of meetings with foreign citizens as part of the project "Information and Consultative Meetings with Foreign Citizens on Compliance with Current Russian Legislation and Preventing Their Involvement in Radical Organizations."

In the period from December 17 to 19, the Association organized a trip of leaders and activists of ethno-cultural public associations of the Sverdlovsk region to the Stavropol Territory, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and the Chechen Republic in order to visit memorial sites associated with the memory of the victims of terror and the heroes of the fight against terrorism, meetings with participants in tragic events. The information received by the leaders and activists of ethno-cultural public associations will be used in educational work with members of their communities and compatriots. Within the framework of the project "Civil-patriotic internship" Interethnic friendship against the grin of terrorism ", the Ural delegation visited the cities of Pyatigorsk, Beslan, Grozny, st. Shelkovskaya Chechen Republic.Also, the public was presented with a methodological manual "Organization and implementation of practical measures in the field of harmonization of interethnic and interreligious relations, prevention of extremism and countering the ideology of terrorism", written by S.A. Pavlenko and A.N. Starostin. The materials of the publication describe in detail the effective practices of conducting specific events in the field of harmonization of interethnic and interreligious relations, the prevention of extremism and the ideology of terrorism, based on the five-year experience of holding these events by the Association. Many pages of the manual are devoted to the issues of socio-cultural adaptation of migrants, as well as interaction with Muslim religious organizations. In order to familiarize profile specialists of the Sverdlovsk region with these practices and to introduce such measures into their practical activities, the methodological manual was sent in electronic form to all municipalities where Interdepartmental Commissions for the Prevention of Extremism operate.

All presented projects were highly appreciated by those present.
