Russia (bbabo.net) - A criminal case has been opened in the Chechen Republic against a resident of Grozny, who systematically beat his son and daughter for several years. According to the press service of the investigative department of the ICR for the region, the children were beaten because of communication with their mother, whom the man divorced back in 2016.

“According to the investigation, the suspect, who was divorced from his wife, from August 2016 to August 2021 systematically beat his minor daughter and son because they kept in touch with their mother,” the ministry said in a statement.

At the time of the parents' divorce, the boy was 10 years old, and the girl was 16. The man categorically forbade the children to see their mother and even talk to her on the phone.

Now the victims have moved to their mother, they are receiving psychological assistance. A criminal case was opened against the 47-year-old father under Part 2 of Article 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Inflicting physical or mental suffering by inflicting systematic beatings on obviously minors."

During the investigation, they will also assess the actions of prevention agencies against minors.
