“He suggested that the FSB building should be blown up.” The student spoke about the leader of the anarchists from Kansk

Schoolchildren from Kansk, who were suspected of preparing for the terrorist attack, confessed. One of the teenagers said that he was turned "against the authorities" by the "leader" of the group. The day before, 16-year-old Nikita Uvarov received 5 years in a penal colony. During the trial, he denied any involvement in illegal activities and claimed that he was not a "leader" of teenagers. The case gained notoriety because the teenagers planned, among other things, to “blow up” the FSB building in the Minecraft computer game. In total, three minors were involved in the Kansk case: 16-year-old Nikita Uvarov and two of his friends. As a result, the court sentenced only Uvarov to imprisonment, he was sent to a penal colony for five years under the article on training in order to carry out terrorist activities. The rest of the suspects, unlike him, cooperated with the investigation and testified, and eventually received suspended sentences.

Telegram-channel Baza called Uvarov "the first anarchist" in a small Kansk. Uvarov's classmate suggested that the student was bored with his peers. He became interested in the ideas of anarchism after reading about them on the Internet and began to share his views with friends.

The RT publication posted a video with the testimony of one of Uvarov's friends, who was detained with him. The boy says that he met other defendants in the case at his school in October 2019.

“We had the same views, anarchist. Then our leader began to interest us in explosives, taught us this over time. Then he began to suggest to us that the FSB, well, the authorities, is our main enemy, [that] we should blow up the FSB building in order to avenge political prisoners,

the teenager said.

The student confirmed that the suspects collected and tested explosives. According to him, after these experiments, he realized the scale of the planned terrorist attack and decided not to participate in the crime.

"After the last test of the explosive, I realized the magnitude, what our leader planned. I renounce my views, I repent completely,” said the schoolboy.

The FSB followed the schoolchildren, who seemed suspicious to the security forces for about eight months before their detention. In the plot of the case, the date “since October 2019” was indicated. At that time, all the suspects were not even 14 years old.

According to investigators, the teenagers read banned literature and watched videos about the manufacture of explosives and devices, and practiced throwing Molotov cocktails in abandoned areas. The parents of the defendants said that they blew up ordinary firecrackers.

In addition, in correspondence, friends discussed that it was necessary to building of the local FSB in Minecraft and blow it up. Because of this detail, the case of the Kan teenagers received wide publicity. According to the NGS24 portal and a Kommersant source, the teenagers planned to blow up a specific department of the FSB in reality, and they wanted to blow up Minecraft as a good example.

The suspects were detained in the summer of 2020 after they posted opposition leaflets in their city. One, including, they hung on the building of the FSB. Two schoolchildren confessed and received house arrest. Uvarov refused to cooperate with the investigation and was sent to a pre-trial detention center.

Initially, teenagers were accused, including of participation in terrorist activities (part 2 of article 205.4 of the Criminal Code). However, in the end, this accusation was dropped as unsubstantiated.

At the trial, Uvarov said that he did not plan any terrorist attacks, and his friends slandered themselves and him, "because they were scared, they wanted to go home faster." Lawyers for the defendants in the case noted that the charges were actually based on the testimony of “frightened boys” and third-party witnesses provocateurs.

"I'm a kid who said stupid things in chat and then forgot about them. I am not a terrorist,” Uvarov stressed in court.

He also said that during the investigation, the security forces put pressure on him and his mother. For example, they did not let a woman see her son and at the same time hinted to the boy that she did not visit him because she was a bad mother. Uvarov also noted that the security forces used physical force against him.

“I will be calm, because I never taught my friends bad things, I was not their leader, we were on an equal footing and were just friends,” Uvarov summed up in his last speech.
